Our
High-Performance TREK Hybrids
and Comfort Road Bikes
If you've come
to this page, the bike content is dated (older models that either
don't exist anymore or have changed from what you see here), but
you'll still learn about high-performance hybrids. --Mike--
You've tried to keep up with your friends, but that heavy mountain
bike just doesn't cut it. And standard road bikes seem a bit
scary, with the seat up in the air and the handlebars down low, and
a long reach to the brake levers. One of these bikes might be
just the ticket!
More comfortable riding position for moderate
rides
(15-60 miles), with a higher handlebar and shorter top tube
Lighter-weight frame & components than mountain
bikes & suspension hybrids
More efficient wheels & tires to take you
further, faster.
Wide range of gears including a really low one
that makes climbing hills easy
Fully assembled and fit to you by our friendly
& knowledgeable staff
Lifetime warranty on frame, one year on parts
Lifetime free minor adjustments (not tune-ups),
done while you wait
10% discount on accessories purchased with the
bike (if they're not already on sale)
At just under 20 miles
and featuring a moderate amount of climbing, "The
Loop" is by far the most popular riding circuit on the
Peninsula. This ride can start in Woodside, Portola Valley,
Stanford...
But why not extend it a bit and take on Skyline Blvd via the most
popular Peninsula climb, Old LaHonda?
That's what we call The Big Loop, a 28-mile ride that's easily
done with any of the bikes on this page. Just take your time
heading up Old LaHonda, and refuel at Sky L'onda.
After mastering Old
LaHonda, it's time for something a bit more challenging!
Starting in Woodside, head up King's Mtn (a 1600ft climb), roll
along Skyline to Sky L'onda, descend the west side of 84 to Old
LaHonda's beautiful but almost-unknown "other" side, climb that back
up to Skyline, and head down 84 back to Woodside.
Total climbing will be about 3,000 feet, mileage around 25. A
nice step up from The Big Loop on the left.
The annual
Primavera Century is a great choice
for that first big organized event. They typically feature a
number of rides, from easy nearly-flat 30 milers up to very hilly
100 milers (called "Centuries"), and lots in-between. It's
held in late April, and starts in Fremont.
Another great ride is the Sequoia Century,
but we should warn you that even the lower-mileage courses tend to
be quite hilly! The Sequoia Century is typically held the
first Sunday in June.
