What's our cheapest bike with Ultegra equipments?

You could substitute '105 for a road bike, or maybe Shimano LX or XT for a mountain bike...it makes just as little sense.  The component group is only part of what makes your bike tick!

A bicycle is much more than just a collection of Shimano components.  In fact, there are only two things that really affect how your bike will ride (and your enjoyment of it)...the wheels and frame.  Period.  OK, maybe a comfortable saddle will help quite a bit too!  But the point is, your bike's road feel, its efficiency, it's ability to climb, the steadiness when descending at high speed, the way it does (or, hopefully, doesn't!) transmit bumps to you as you ride...NONE of that has anything to do with the level of components hung on the frame.

Looking at it another way, going cheap on the frame & wheels and putting everything into the components makes about as much sense as putting a Ferrari engine into a Ford Pinto, or buying a really expensive stereo receiver and connecting Radio Shack's cheapest speakers to it.

You want to ride further, in more comfort.

You want to ride faster, easier.

You want to climb with less effort, and descend without being scared you're going to run off the road.

You want to have more fun on a bike!

That's what you'll get with the TREK, Klein, LeMond & Fisher bikes at Chain Reaction.  Some other brand might have a two-bit frame hung with nice parts at a cheap price, but it won't add up to a bike you'll fall in love with.  And keep in mind we're not talking about you spending more money...not at all!  We're talking about spending it where it counts.  It's always better to get the best frame & wheels possible within a given price range.  Besides, you can always upgrade the components later on, for a lot less than a new frame would cost you!

And remember...the most expensive bike you can buy is the one that hangs in the garage, unused, because it's not as fun to ride as it could have been.  This frequently has little to do with price, and more to do with simply optimizing the wrong things.
