How good are our prices?

Well, below you'll find the contents of a recently-received email from our website. We get stuff like this every day (usually two or three)...people wanting us to ship stuff to them (in violation of our dealer agreement, so we won't) because our prices are so good.

Great. Wonderful. I visit your (rather nice) website for the first time, and what do I find?? The very bike I'm planning on buying over Xmas (Klein Mantra Comp) for FIVE FRIGGIN' HUNDRED DOLLARS less than I'd pay at our local bike shop/ripoff market. I thought it was a miracle.

Wrongo!

I surf down a few lines, and find that you folks don't "sell bikes through the "mail."" Nnnnnnoooooooooo!!!!!!! I mean, come on, guys, just because I live in Indiana doesn't mean I'm a bad person! I swear, I'm planning to move to California right after I graduate, I promise!! And I LOVE Klein bikes .

In short, I'd love to give you some money. Is there any possible way you could, ya know, help me out, or do I have no hope at all.

Please?....

And yet we don't see our prices as the primary reason for buying from Chain Reaction. It's just one part of a recipe that includes exceptional assembly and after-sale service, expert fitting and personal attention to your needs. Our goal is to make sure you'll want to ride your new bike! We want to see you bring it back in with parts worn out from extensive use. We want you to bring it in for our lifetime free minor adjustments so you can tell us how your new bike is changing your life (and, not lost on us, is the fact that while we're performing our minor miracles on your bike, you're wandering through our store, finding new things you might like to buy!).

You are the reason we exist. Yes, we answer email questions from people all over the world...people we'll probably never see. That's OK if we're making the world a little bit more friendly for cyclists, one email at a time. But our primary mission is to serve our local clientele, and that means making sure you're getting a bike that serves your needs, fits great, and, perhaps most important of all, that you feel comfortable bringing your bike back into our store if something doesn't seem quite right. In fact, an informal motto of ours is "If you bring your bike in the front door in two pieces, we won't run away from you. We might cringe, but we won't run away!"

By the way, another informal motto- Send us email by midnight, you’ll have a reply by 2am (email "buttons" are all over our website). And while you’re there, you can learn much more about us, where to ride in this area, and what we think about half-a-zillion subjects dealing with bikes.
